Privacy policy

The Association of County and City Councils does not sell personal data. Contact forms send only what you submit: your name, email, and message. That information goes to the editorial team and is not shared with third parties.

We do not run advertising networks, tracking pixels, or social-media widgets that follow you across the web. The site is funded by member subscriptions, not by surveillance.

Technical logs may be kept briefly for security and reliability. A typical log entry includes your IP address, the page you requested, the time, and your browser string. These logs are rotated out after a few weeks and are never sold or shared.

We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising. If the site sets a cookie, it is for a functional purpose: keeping you logged in to a members-only area, or remembering a form field so you do not have to type it twice.

If you email us, your address stays in our inbox until the conversation is done. We do not add you to a mailing list without your explicit consent. We do not hand your address to partner organizations or sponsors.

The website is hosted in the European Union. Data protection law applies. If you want to know what we hold about you, or if you want it deleted, email the contact address with enough detail to identify your records.

We do not collect data from children knowingly. The site is aimed at elected members, local-government staff, and interested adults. If a child submits a contact form by mistake, we delete the record as soon as we notice.

This policy covers only the Association's own website. If we link to a council site, a government portal, or a third-party resource, that destination has its own privacy rules. We do not control or endorse them.

Changes to this policy will be posted on this page with a revision date. We will not make a change that weakens your privacy without clear notice and a reason.
